Non GW mounted troops scaling

Postby Llamafish » 13 Oct 2014, 12:20

As part of my next consideration for a project I looked around at other companies mounted troops for scaling!

Fire gorge and warlord look out... Can't really tell if Perry os smaller, but considering their background it would be close you'd think!

That Fireforge stuff is the bee knees IMHO - I've recently picked up some mediaeval rules, and as/when/if I do get minis to have a crack at them I will be using Fireforge.

Well I would say that the scale progresses down the row from left to right.
Gw are always going to be massive, but the fire forge ones look alright, warlord are a bit small but I don't think it will matter too much unless you I'd them in with citadel minis in a regiment.
The Perry stuff is very historically accurate but it's tiny and way too thin.
They aren't great at casting so that makes the minis thinner but on top of that they dint bulk stuff at all. If you had a shot of the Perry mini next to the citadel one you'd really see how far out it is

Yeah they cast with the metal too hot and the mold too cold it ends up with a really shiny and skinny model, but because they do that on the master castings it never gets any better
