I want a copy of the Elite game from the early. 90s. I had it on the NES but a the versions I have found for PC have been newer or different versions.

the X game series is the closest you are gonna get to elite but doesn't quite deliver the same game experience

However, X3: Terran Conflict: Albion Prelude is a fantastic game, if you want to waste a few hundred hours, despite the hideously long name. It's a mix between a space shooter, trade sim and exploration model. There is a new Elite game coming out soon(ish), called Elite Dangerous, which looks to be a straight up space shooter.
