Pegasus Bridge

I'm hoping I can get to Pegasus Bridge while I'm away. Has anybody here been there or even better, travelled from Paris and knows the best way to get there?

I've been to Pegasus bridge - think we took the bus though. We stayed in Caen, but if you've got a car it's probably a lot easier. When I was there in '94 the old bridge was still about, but not in use (it had been moved away from the water onto the land on the other side of the water from the town). We had our picnic in the area where the gliders landed (and were one is still somewere under the swampy ground nearby which is a little grim).

I went a couple of years ago, the museum is worth a visit.... plus the café on the other side of the bridge.

Pegasus Bridge and Sword Beach!

If anybody is planning to go here is a very quick lesson into how to get there from Caen.

There is a bus available from the main train station. It is run by a company called Twisto. To get to Ouistreham and Sword Beach, take the 61. To get to Pegasus Bridge, take the other 61. Yes there are 2 61's. I'm not sure how you tell them apart but one of them bypasses Benouville (the bridge town) completely.

We went to Ouistreham and had to go all the way back to Caen to get the right 61 to Pegasus Bridge!

In the end we got to both, but not without some angry ginger stomping about Caen telling the French they were
